The Pad Preparation

Hello all,

I've been reluctant to post anything too often for fear of boring everyone so I saved the pre-pad prep, the plumbing and the actual pouring of the pad to post all at once and just remembered that I can only post five pictures at a time.
Needless to say, I will be adding three separate posts tonight, maybe more.
We are finally moving along, the day we've been waiting for (the pouring of the pad) has arrived.
This ushers in the much faster moving jobs for a while..................the framing, roofing, electrical and the rest of the plumbing. Hooray, it will finally begin looking like a house.
So, the following pictures are of the pre-pad prep. They had to dig out another footing for the load bearing wall down the center of the basement and fill it with 3/4 minus rock and pack it for a base.
I will add the pictures of the underfloor plumbing and then the pouring of the basement in the next several blogs but not write a lot. I will just put a text under the picture.
Enjoy! We are finally getting there.

This is actually the guy that pours the pad, loading the basement up with rock before the plumber gets here.

Smoothing it all out and digging a footing for the load bearing wall.

These guys are fun to watch, the machines they run are just an extention of their arms. They are so good at it.

I tried to catch him popping a wheelie, he did it several times while turning around in there.
All the rock is in, watered and tamped down. It is almost as hard as cement.
