Hello all again,

Well here we are, seems we finally got over the biggest humps that were slowing down the progress of the house and the guys laying the block are actually going to work through the whole weekend in order to get us closer to the original schedule. We are thankful for them. They are two very nice young men and do awesome work. We are very impressed with their work, unbelievably straight, plumb and extemely clean. We have already talked to them about doing a little more block work for us, possibly at the front entrance in the form of pillars for the gate.
Anyway, they got the first course of 12 inch block laid, had the county out to inspect it the next day and then had the cement truck out to fill them that same afternoon. The 12 inch are about 5 feet high and tomorrow they will begin the 8 inch on top of that and take the basement to 10 feet total.
The county will have to come out on Monday and inspect it and then they will pour the fill into it and their job will be done.
Next will be a toss up between the plumber before they pour the pad and the framer, maybe both of them at the same time.
We hear the framer has called the block guy a couple of times to see if he was done, he's very anxious to get started.
Finally it looks like we might see some progress and see it happen quickly.
Here is where we are so far and I'll post the final block pictures mid next week.
Thank you for sharing in our excitement with us.

The delivery of the block, what a mess these huge trucks have created in the meadow. We expected this but will be glad when they are done and we can plant and get rid of the dust.

Hard at work trying to get as much done in one day as possible.

Jesse, the guy who owns the company, posing for a picture. He is the nicest young man and very skilled at his job.

Layer by layer he is getting there.

The final layer of 12 in. it has the cement fill in it already and they will go to 8 in. on top of that tomorrow.
