The actual pouring of the pad

This was a long day for these guys, they showed up at 6 AM this morning and worked on it all day. It looks like a sheet of glass tonight. After they poured and smoothed it all out they let it set a little and then they got down on their hands and knees and hand troweled it about 4 times, then they sealed it with something that retards the drying process so we don't have to keep it wet.

The cement truck and pumper truck.

Filling the load bearing footing first.

This was the pumper truck operator, he stood right there and watched the guy pouring and knew exactly when and where to move the crane and control the flow. I guess I'm easily impressed but I enjoy watching people who know how to their jobs well. Earning a living with his video game playing skills.

Pour part, smooth part

It took two huge truck loads of cement to fill the basement and they used every last bit of it.
