Excavation of the Haley house 2008

The "BEFORE"

The first cut off the front of the hill. It was a little scary because the drop off is farther than it looks and this guy went sideways on the edge of the hill.

Delivery of the "BIG DIGGER"

Just thought this was a cool picture through the trees.

Grading done, now the big dig begins. There is a lot of dirt to take out of this hill.

Building a ramp for the dump trucks to back up onto so they can unload rock.

The first of 31 loads of rock to build a firm foundation.

Keeping it watered so it packs really well.

Taking a stump to the burn pile.

Digging out tree stumps.

Rolling the ramp.

Digging out another tree.

Grading the upper level of the hill for the garage.

Digging the footings for the garage.

Getting a level on the footings.

The final grade of the basement.

The last couple of scoops of dirt.

Me standing on the upper level of the hill taking a picture down into one of the corners of the basement.
Fear of heights, YIKES!

Finished with the first phase and the fun continues. Can't wait to see walls start to go up.

Den standing in the corner of the basement.
